8U OBA Champions!!
The 8U North London Nationals took home the 'A' provincial title over the weekend in Kitchener.
The boys started with a win over Lakeshore on Friday and followed that with another win Saturday morning over Chatham. They went on to play against the London Talons - who they have had many good battles against all year, and ultimately lost in a close game 9-6.
Moving to Sunday, the team came out flying and beat Clarington in 5 innings which then gave them another match with the London Talons. This time, they came out on top winning 12-1.
With three teams remaining, a coin flip determined if they would have to play Niagara Falls the next game. With the first coin flip win of the weekend (they lost every one up until this point), they got the Sunday afternoon bye into Monday.
On the final day, the Nationals won a back and forth battle against Niagara Falls sending them to the finals against LaSalle. Trailing for most of the game, the boys didn't give up and erupted in the bottom of the 6th to come back and get their first lead of the game. They went on to shut them down in the 7th and take home the OBA championship.
