North Mosquito red earn tie in a scorcher
With temperatures in the thirties, and a humidex hovering at forty, it was a tough game for North Mosquito red Friday night when they met a good match in Oakridge 4.

Michael Ashton started, and battled heat exhaustion in pitching two innings (with only two runs allowed). Jacob Blaha finished the pitching duties, also allowing 2 runs. The clean up hitter for Oakridge accounted for all for of their RBI's, otherwise, North's two pitchers contained them well.

North scored most of their runs early, mostly on walks. There was a nice defensive play from Austin Brown that helped keep Oakridge from scoring more runs in the second.

In the end, both teams agreed to call the game at 7:29 in order to get out of the heat. With the one point, North mosquito red are firmly in third place in the standings, with two games remaining. It looks as though North Mosquito red will be competing for a league championship in the tier 1 group at the year end tournament.
