Shoemaker allows one over 4 innings, North Mosquito Red win 15-1
Submitted By BTRMO5 on Saturday, July 16, 2016
Daniel Shoemaker started, and allowed only one run over 4 innings, with great pitching. Jacob Byloo closed the game in the fifth, and both pitchers shut down the North 3 batters.

On the offensive front, North Mosquito red struggled in the first, as the North 3 pitcher started strong. Austin Ziegler sparked the offence in the second inning with an RBI double. From that point forward, there was no looking back. North red had figured out the pitcher, and went on a run, scoring 3 in the second, 6 in the third, 2 in the fourth, and 4 in the fifth, for a 15 run outburst. The boys on North red were patient at the plate, getting timely walks, but also had timely hits from most players. Our base running was much improved, and Jacob Blaha even got out of a run down between 3rd and home, scoring after a bomb to left.

Defensively, North red had big plays from many players. Adrian Jones had a great catch in centre field to end a threat in the 4th. Daniel Shoemaker had great plays at the mound. Cohen Stewart-Banks threw out a runner at first from right field, and nearly threw out another at first in the same inning, but the runner was safe by a half step.

The rematch is at Noon Saturday at North 3.
