Close game felt stolen at the end...tough loss to Oakridge 1
A close game came down to a tough call in the last inning. The North London Mosquito Red team lost 5-2, when a bottom of the fifth rally was cut short by a tough call on a routine ground ball.

The game started with Jacob Blaha pitching two shutout innings, with 6 strikeouts. North Mosquito reds were able to cash in two runs early (with Adrian Jones picking up the two RBI), but were unable to cash in when there were runners in scoring position (with no one out) in the second inning. Missing those opportunities would eventually cost them at the end of the game.

In the third inning, Daniel Shoemaker came in with the bases loaded and no one out, but allowed only one run to score to get North out of a tough spot in the third. Jacob Byloo would later close out the pitching duties, and all pitchers threw well in the loss.

Oakridge 1 scored 3 in the fifth to pull ahead, so a big inning was needed in the bottom of the last inning to get the win. Cohen Stewart-Banks and Sacha Sangalli got aboard in the bottom of the last inning with two outs. Jacob Blaha legged out a ground ball to load the bases, but was called out in a tough call that was tough to take. It would have loaded the bases with their big guns coming up, but it was not to be. Tough one for all to take, but that's baseball.

The North team got solid pitching, and good production from the bottom of the line-up, but came up short against a strong Oakridge team. All three losses for the year for North Mosquito red team have been close games, and have been losses to the three top teams in the standings. The future looks bright for North London Red team as the season moves forward.

The next game for North Mosquito red team is on the road in Ilderton on Tuesday night, where the North red team hopes to get in the win column again.
